Raja yogas answered the client's second question — will I rise? — and last lesson closed with a warning: rise is not riches. Plenty of authority arrives with a thin wallet, and plenty of quiet charts bank fortunes. The classics keep a separate family for the first question anyone actually asks, and its name says it plainly: dhana — wealth.
Here is the relief: you already know the grammar. Dhana yogas use the same three bonds you drilled in Module 3 and reused for raja — conjunction, mutual aspect, exchange. Only the cast changes. Swap Vishnu's power seats for the money houses: the 2nd, where wealth accumulates; the 11th, where income arrives; and the fortune trikonas, 5 and 9, still on the payroll. When their lords join hands, the chart writes a claim to wealth.
But this family carries a secret raja never had to face. The money houses run hot — the 11th lord is functionally troublesome by definition, the 2nd is a maraka — so every dhana yoga is built from morally complicated planets. Money comes, and you will learn to read what it comes with. First the circuit, then the wiring, then the honest fine print.
By the end: Detect a dhana yoga in any chart by bonding the lords of houses 2, 11, 5, and 9 — or the lagna lord — through conjunction, mutual aspect, exchange, or the direct 2–11 placements, weigh Jupiter's condition as the multiplier on every find, account for the built-in heat of the wealth houses, and grade the whole circuit before promising anyone money.
Wealth lives in a quartet. The 2nd holds accumulated wealth — savings, assets, the family store. The 11th brings income and gains — the inflow pipe. The 5th and 9th are the fortune trikonas, merit converting into luck. Add the 1st, the self who earns. Dhana yogas wire these houses together through their lords.
A salary raise is an 11th-house event; the bank balance it builds is 2nd-house territory. A full circuit needs both.
A dhana yoga forms when wealth-house lords inter-relate through Module 3's three bonds — conjunction, mutual aspect, or exchange. The grammar is raja's exactly; only the cast changes. The core pairing binds the 2nd lord to the 11th lord: savings meets income, and the circuit closes at its two most literal terminals.
For Cancer lagna, the Sun (2nd lord) conjoined with Venus (11th lord) is the textbook dhana yoga.
Beyond the core pair: either wealth lord with a trikona lord (5th or 9th) — wealth meets fortune — or the lagna lord with any of them, the self plugged into the money line. Two placements count without a partner: the 2nd lord standing IN the 11th, or the 11th lord IN the 2nd — exchange-lite, one lord working the other's office.
For Capricorn lagna, Mars (11th lord) placed in Aquarius — the 2nd house — is a dhana placement all by itself.
Jupiter is dhana-karaka — the natural significator of wealth. A strong Jupiter joining or aspecting the 2nd, the 11th, or their lords amplifies every dhana yoga in the chart; a combust or debilitated Jupiter starves the same formations. Whatever the lords promise, Jupiter's condition sets the multiplier — check it before sizing any claim.

The honest nuance: the 11th is a trishadaya — its lord functionally troublesome (n33) — and the 2nd is a maraka. So dhana yogas are built from morally complicated lords by design. Money comes, and when the participants are afflicted it comes with appetite, strings, or health costs. Greed and gain share a wire (n15).
An afflicted 2nd–11th union can deliver the payout and the ulcer in the same dasha. The yoga kept its promise; read the whole invoice.
Run n55's discipline. Strength: Module 5 verdicts on every participant — weak lords write cheques that bounce. Seat: the union's house — dignified chairs deliver, dusthanas labor. Contamination: dusthana lordship beyond the built-in heat dilutes further. Multiplier: Jupiter's condition scales the whole result. Formation without strength is paper wealth — printed, promising, unspendable.
A 2nd–11th conjunction of two combust planets seated in the 12th house forms, grades near zero, and pays accordingly.
The meta rule
Wealth is a circuit: income (11), savings (2), fortune (5 and 9), self (1). A dhana yoga closes the circuit — grade the wiring before promising the current. And remember the same terminals wired badly run in reverse: wealth lords sunk in dusthanas or hemmed by malefics form the poverty combinations, next lesson's subject.
Close the circuit, test the wiring, then name the current — detection, grade, claim, always in that order.
