Last lesson retired the lottery ticket. Now meet the combination everyone was scratching for. Raja — Sanskrit for king — names the family of yogas the classics rank first, the ones every forum thread hunts, the ones software prints in bold. And the entire family runs on one formula you can hold in a single breath.
Here it is: a lord of power meets a lord of fortune, and both can carry weight. Kendras — houses 1, 4, 7, 10 — are the seats of Vishnu, the chart's engines of action and position. Trikonas — houses 1, 5, 9 — are the seats of Lakshmi, its reservoirs of merit and luck. When a lord from each list joins hands through one of Module 3's bonds, the chart writes a claim to rise.
Everything else in this lesson is refinement of that sentence: the premier named form, the six lagnas that get the yoga in a single planet, and — because you now grade before you believe — the checks that separate a raja yoga with muscle from one that only rules on paper. Priya's chart is waiting with both kinds at once.
By the end: Detect a raja yoga in any chart by pairing kendra and trikona lords through conjunction, mutual aspect, or exchange, recognize the dharma-karma-adhipati and one-planet yogakaraka forms on sight, grade each yoga for participant strength, lordship contamination, and seat, and state its promise as a calibrated modern claim of authority and rise.
A raja yoga forms when a kendra lord — houses 1, 4, 7, 10, Vishnu's seats of power — connects with a trikona lord — houses 1, 5, 9, Lakshmi's seats of fortune — through one of Module 3's three bonds: conjunction, mutual aspect, or exchange. Power united with fortune promises rise in status and authority.
For Aries lagna, the Moon (4th lord) conjoined with the Sun (5th lord) is a raja yoga: kendra hand, trikona hand, one bond.
The 1st house sits in both lists — it is a kendra AND a trikona. So the lagna lord carries dual citizenship: bond it to any kendra or trikona lord and a raja yoga forms. Half the handshake is already in its hand, which is why a strong, well-connected lagna lord lifts a chart so reliably.
For Leo lagna, the Sun conjoined with Jupiter (5th lord) is already a raja yoga — the Sun supplies the kendra side by owning the 1st.
The strongest named raja combination binds the 9th lord — dharma, the path of fortune — to the 10th lord — karma, the field of action. Adhipati means lord: the best trikona meets the best kendra, purpose meets career. When both lords are strong, this is the chart's loudest single claim to public rise.
For Virgo lagna, Venus (9th lord) conjoined with Mercury (10th lord, and lagna lord besides) is dharma-karma-adhipati yoga at full voltage.
Six lagnas get the yoga in a single body. When one planet owns a kendra and a trikona at once — the yogakaraka of lesson 31 — it IS a raja yoga, no partner required. Mars for Cancer and Leo, Saturn for Taurus and Libra, Venus for Capricorn and Aquarius. Its strength alone delivers raja effects.
Priya's Cancer lagna: Mars owns the 5th and 10th. Exalted in Capricorn, it is a raja yoga complete in one planet.
Formation found — now run n55's discipline. Hands: Module 5 strength on every participant, because weak lords make paper kings. Contamination: a participant that also owns a dusthana (6, 8, 12) or trishadaya (3, 6, 11) shades the promise without erasing it. Chairs: a union seated in kendras or trikonas shines; seated in dusthanas, it labors.
Priya's Mars exchanges with Saturn — a 7th lord that also owns the 8th. The yoga forms, and the 8th-lordship shadow goes into the grade.
Read raja as authority, not throne: career elevation, visibility, command, doors opening — proportionate to the chart's overall strength and the native's era. It is never a guarantee of wealth; money is dhana territory, next lesson. And charts often hold several raja combinations: they reinforce, but one strong clean yoga outranks five weak smudged ones.
The same dharma-karma-adhipati yoga makes a minister in one era and a department head in another. The rise is real; the scale is contextual.
The meta rule
Power meets fortune and both are strong — that is the whole raja secret. Find the pair, check their hands, then check their chairs. Every named raja yoga in the classics, from the crown pairing to the one-planet shortcut, is this sentence wearing different clothes. Recite it before you announce any king.
Pair, hands, chairs — three checks, in that order, every time. Skip one and you are selling lottery tickets again.
A Virgo lagna chart shows Mercury and Venus conjoined in the 1st house. Run the formula: what have you found?
List each planet's lordships for Virgo lagna first, then sort them into kendra and trikona hands.
