01Overview
02One house, six unrelated-looking subjects
Putra bhava holds intelligence and its output, romance, speculation, children, and purva punya — the merit the tradition holds you arrived carrying. What joins that list is that every item on it is generated rather than acquired, which is how one trikona ends up covering a poem and a child under the same heading. Shukra placed there is the karaka of delight standing in the department that produces.
03What this seat is and is not describing
04The graha that carries a raja yoga by itself
A yogakaraka owns one kendra and one trikona in the same chart, which means it holds a raja yoga on its own without needing to join anything else. Venus takes that office for exactly two ascendants: Capricorn, where it owns the fifth and the tenth, and Aquarius, where it owns the fourth and the ninth. For a Capricorn ascendant Taurus falls on the fifth, so Shukra standing here is the yogakaraka sitting inside one of the two houses that make it one.
05Delight that produces, and delight that postpones
| ♀︎The work gets made | The pleasure is the point | |
|---|---|---|
| The 5th sign | Pisces (exalted), Taurus or Libra (own) | Virgo (debilitated) — a Taurus lagna |
| The 5th lord | Strong, and not shut away in a dusthana | Weak, or hidden where it cannot act |
| Saturn's involvement | In contact — something imposes a deadline | Absent — nothing insists on finishing |
| Jupiter's condition | Sound — the trikona has its other backing | Poor — the house's second witness is thin |
| If Venus is fallen here | Neecha bhanga conditions present | The fall stands exactly as it is |
06Whether a fallen Venus is genuinely cancelled
A Taurus ascendant puts Virgo on the fifth house, so Venus lands there in its sign of fall while also owning the lagna. Neecha bhanga is the set of conditions held to lift a debilitation — the dispositor in a kendra, the exaltation sign's lord well placed, and several further variants — and the sources agree neither on the list nor on what a lifted debilitation actually produces. One reading restores the graha to ordinary function and stops there; another generates a raja yoga outright, on the argument that a fall reversed outranks a fall never taken.
