Dhana bhava is the department of what has already been gathered — the store, the family group it sits inside, the food, and the voice that speaks for all of it. The eleventh house answers what comes in and this one answers what stays, and collapsing them is where a wealth reading usually goes wrong at the first step. Shukra standing here puts the karaka of refinement on the shelf rather than in the market.

Moolatrikona is a graha's root ground — a degree span inside a sign it owns where it is rated strongest short of exaltation, and for Shukra that span is Libra 0° to 15°. A Virgo ascendant puts Libra in the second house, so a Venus in the first half of that sign stands on its own root ground in the house of holdings. That same ascendant carries Venus's debilitation sign on the lagna itself, which is a plain demonstration that dignity is a fact about a degree rather than about a chart's owner.

06Whether a benefic can act as a maraka
The second and seventh are the maraka houses and their lords carry that office regardless of the graha's natural character, which puts an Aries ascendant in an unusual position: Taurus falls in the second and Libra in the seventh, so Shukra owns both. One body of practice takes the rule at face value; another holds that a natural benefic softens any office it is handed, and that maraka lordship in Venus's hands is a different proposition from the same lordship in Mars's. AskVeda does not read longevity from a chart under either version, so this page names the disagreement and leaves it there.
