01Overview
02What the second house is actually counting
The second house counts what stays with you — savings rather than income, the family you were born into, what you eat, and the voice you speak in. It is the house of holding; earning is an eleventh-house question and the two are constantly confused. Rahu here enlarges the appetite for everything on that list.
03Four things Rahu does in the house of holdings
04The correction worth making
The second house is not where money is lost; it is where money is held, and the confusion persists because the same house also governs family and inherited values. Rahu enlarges the appetite for accumulation, and whether anything stays is decided by the second lord and by Rahu's dispositor. The placement raises the wanting; it does not settle the outcome.
05Two charts, one placement
| Reads as accumulating | Reads as leaking | |
|---|---|---|
| The 2nd lord | Strong, in a kendra, trikona or the 11th | Weak, combust, or in the 6th, 8th or 12th |
| Rahu's dispositor | Dignified and unafflicted | Afflicted, or in a sign it struggles in |
| Saturn's involvement | Saturn aspects the 2nd — appetite meets a brake | No Saturn contact — nothing structural holds it |
| Conjunctions | With Jupiter or Mercury — speech and judgement | With Mars — speech sharpens past its usefulness |
| What it looks like | Unusual routes to a real balance sheet | Large flows, thin retention |
06When it actually surfaces
The second house does most of its talking during Rahu's own periods and the periods of the second lord. Outside those windows this is a background setting rather than a live event. Transits colour a season; the dasha decides the chapter.
